From what I've read in the yellowverse over the last few months, it appears this year's Lotusphere Comes to You tour has been very successful. I'll be attending today (Grand Rapids, MI), and I might even be tweeting or squawking while there.

Category Lotusphere2009 TravelIt is a beautiful morning. We're cruising down the interstate, the sun is shining on the sycamore trees in the distance. I'm currently sprawled out on the very back leather sofa-bench thing, while The Truman Show plays quietly on the 42" flat panel to my left.
The normal folks (Jimmy, Jen, Sheri and Mike) are up front, actually having a real live, face-to-face conversation with one another. The rest of us are in the back, clicking away at our laptops, putting the final touches on our presentations and projects as we journey towards Orlando.
We are too enthralled in our work to take notice of the beauty of the road. It's kind of sad in a way; but we are, at our cores, true geeks. The romanticist in me wants to believe that we are like normal folk. The realist in me is all too aware that God made us this way for a reason. We build stuff. We are wizards of bits and bytes, masterfully weaving together the fabric that binds the modern world together. This is what we do, and we are very, very good at it. And to be completely honest, I wouldn't have it any other way. Again, that's just how we are built.
The stuff we are bringing to Lotusphere will absolutely blow your minds. Come on by booth #s 424 - 427 and check it out.
Oh yes, it is going to be a very good year.

Category Lotusphere2009When asked to participate / present in this year's SPEEDGEEKING, I of course said yes.
My topic is Cool things you never thought you could do with Notes. I realize the kids in the cool crowd are all hyped up about Xpages and Web 2.0 stuff, but that's not where most of my customers "live". Don't misunderstand me, those things are absolutely awesome, but the Notes Client, IMNSHO, is where business gets done.
So I figured I'd show off a little bit of techno-geekery, and demonstrate a few out of the ordinary things that can be done within the Notes Client. I'll attempt to cram Custom Desktops, drag & drop with Active Workspaces, and combining Network File Shares with Notes to produce an Associated Document Model for attachments into 300 seconds of high-speed hilarity.
